Tamiya Radio Control are high performance kit cars - you must assemble all parts yourself. If you do not feel capable of assembling these kits, take a look at Tamiya's own Ready to Run QD & XB cars.

Skill required is similar to basic mechanical work - if you can change plugs and brake pads on a real car, you should be able to build a kit. All car kits require Acoms Radio (includes control box, receiver, switch/BEC and servo), NiCad battery and Charger to function, which are included in deals - you will need a craft knife, cross head screwdriver and pliers, plus paint and 8xAA batteries for the controller to complete model.

Unless stated otherwise, all deals include an Overnight charger. Charger options can be found underneath each item.

Deal Batteries - Important Info

Standard Deals will come with a "Sport" battery: This is currently an 1800 Orion or Ansmann 1900 Battery with Tamiya deals (both packs are equivalent). Our Lunch Box Superdeal with an AC30 and 3 Batteries comes with 3 x 1500 batteries to suit the charger included.

Go Large Deals will come with a 3000 Mah battery: This is currently a RC Systems 3000 7.2v battery.

Battery mixes may change at short notice due to supply and demand of RC batteries.

Vitally Important Info - Price Rises :(

Tamiya cars are going up as of 1st January 2010 on all restocks, this has been necessary we understand due to increases in costings from the Japanese factory and also due to freight costs for stock entering the UK.

VAT increased from 15% to 17.5% on 1st January 2010. We are absorbing this VAT increase on ALL in-stock cars until 1st March 2010.

We will also hold existing prices for ALL in stock Tamiya items until 1st March 2010.

After that prices will be revised in line with 2010 price ranges.

HOWEVER, any kit that we run out of stock on will unfortunately have to rise in line with the new price lists AND the increase in VAT. Therefore...

Tamiya 58336 The Hornet	Chassis: Rear Drive, Classic Chassis. Reissue of 1984 Model!
Click picture for larger view.	Debuting in 1984, the RC hornet - the car that produced the boom of 2 WD off road cars - has returned in it's original form. Utilizing the light weight design of the original model, this RC assembly kit does not care where it runs - either on road or off road. Total length 400mm, total height 150mm, width 230mm, built weight 874g. Made from high grade plastic in all components from the suspension arm to the gear box, bath tub chassis etc and being lightweight, it maximises body rigidity giving a strong model. Suspension on the front is a swing axle independent system damped by coil springs, the rolling rigid rear axle is supported with oil damper units to absorb heavier bumps. The design keeps sand out of the gearbox and the direct vent system on the gearbox allows air to pass in and out but shuts out the invasion of the small stones which could enter when driving off road. Inside is a differential gear which allows smooth cornering. Front wheels feature the classic grooved tyre and the rear wheels have superior traction with high grip spiked tyres installed. As for the body, it's polycarbonate which is strong enough to survive light shocks. Chassis construction - the bumper is made of a special resin. Front suspension is of swing axle independent type supported by friction dampers. Front grooved tyre is hollow. Wheels are 3 piece type with fitted bearings at the front and adjustable via ball adjuster steering tracking position. The ABS resin chassis is of the bathtub type which has high strength as is the side bumper. Needs steering servo (sold separately), receiver (sold separately), 7.2v battery (sold separately). Speed controller (sold separately in Japan, included in some other countries, including UK releases - not included in RAW KIT optionbelow). 540 type motor and oil damper unit for the rear suspension included as standard. Introducing the 1/10 Scale Gravel Hound buggy on the all-new DT-02 chassis. The four-wheel independent double wishbone suspension combines with oil dampers to provide a smooth ride no matter what the terrain. With high-quality front and rear oil dampers providing excellent suspension performance, Rising Storm provides exciting off road driving and thrilling jumps.

About the Model

	Second release for the shaft-driven 4WD DF-02 chassis featuring longitudinally mounted motor and battery layout.
	Low centre of gravity, wide bathtub chassis and wide tread provides extra stability and superb handling.
	Semi-bearing drive train using 8 ball bearings for reduced friction leading to extra speed.

Notes from the Spannerman: This is a great leap forward from Tamiya on rear-drive buggies - nothing since the Mad Cap series (long discontinued) has actually been raceable - the existing buggies such as Mad Fighter etc are great cars, but they're really park and play rather than race machines. The Desert Gator and Sand Viper have a lot of potential for serious driving and the small amount extra over the Super Fighter G is well worthwhile for the added bearings, better drive shafts and improved suspension included in the kit.

This is basically same chassis as the Double Blaze but rear wheel drive - fast, easy to use and has that go-anywhere grass riding ability! Heavyweight styrene (solid plastic) bodywork has always been a great selling point on the King Blackfoot and we're pleased to state that the new Blackfoot Extreme carries on this tradition! As before it'll be ideal for blasting around the park. The Frog has been updated with new design TRF style shock absorbers and standard dog-bone and cups to overcome two of the limitations of the original design.

With the front and rear wheels each having a dedicated electric motor providing power, the 4WD system enables dynamic performance and high-mobility. Massive 130mm diameter lug pattern spike tires and 4-wheel double wishbone suspension gives this racing truck the ability to blast through any terrain. The heaviest component, the battery, is located in the centre of the chassis, with motors to the front and rear. Steering servo is also centrally positioned, for optimum weight balance and superior control and handling. The flexible 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension with friction dampers is ready to handle all manner of driving conditions. Sealed front and rear diff gearboxes are pre-built, and may be removed without disassembling chassis, for excellent maintainability. Newly-developed twin-motor ESC ensures safe and consistent running while the racing truck body and wing are made from lightweight polycarbonate. This chassis design is by far the best offroader in Tamiya's range - they can handle grass, mud, earth and tarmac in virtually equal quantities - if in any doubt about which model to go for, we recommend going for this - it has power and driveability meaning that you can run it virtually anywhere! Tamiya designers have given this re-released Boomerang a makeover replacing older, harder to assemble parts with modern equivalents, but still keeping true to the spirit of the original Boomerang. The combination of these new improvements such as more efficient gear box, drive shafts and axle joints along with the new placement of the drive shaft gives the Boomerang improved steering control and helps to minimise the effects of shocks. Long-time fans will once again experience the nostalgia of their childhood and beginners can enjoy the easy operation of this colourful off-road truck. About the Subaru BRAT The Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter was created by Subaru in the late 1970s from their earlier 4WD station wagon model for the US market. Powered by a flat-four engine ranging from 1.6 to 1.8 litres in displacement, this pickup had the unique feature of having jump seats welded to the truck bed, which allowed it to be imported as a car instead of a truck. One of the cars more famous owners was former US President Ronald Reagan, whose red BRAT is restored and displayed at his former residence in California. About the Model High-quality 1/10 R/C assembly kit of the Subaru BRAT, one of Tamiya's early R/C creations. Same 2WD chassis as used for the reissue Frog, with 4-wheel independent suspension and full ball bearings to handle tough off-road driving. Comes with two body shells, one made of plastic material similar to the original BRAT for a nostalgic feel and one made from durable polycarbonate material. About the Touareg Dakar Rally
Making its debut in this year’s Dakar Rally, unquestionably the toughest rally in the world, the expectations of the Touareg team was simple, just finish the race. With a 57% retirement rate in the car category, making it one of the toughest Dakar rallies ever, not only did the Touareg meet these expectations, it superseded them. B. Saby in car no. 224 finished 6th overall, and the “Queen of the Desert” J. Kleinschmidt, the only ever female winner of the Rally, took out 1st place in stage 16, and secured 4 other top-5 stage finishes to climb from 123rd place to finish 17th overall. The Touareg rally version features large air-intakes on the roof and bonnet, and cleaning fan in the cockpit, an indispensable fitting for desert running. The Touareg displayed its power, manoeuvrability and speed in its debut year, a declaration of things to come.

Of the many iterations of the Toyota Land Cruiser, the 1972 Land Cruiser 40 is particularly popular thanks to its attractive styling and has a large fan base around the world. This R/C model's body is made from ultra durable polycarbonate and the actual vehicle's front bumper and 35-inch tires are accurately reproduced to provide a realistic scale appearance. In addition, 2 white and 2 red LEDs depict the head and tail lights respectively, further enhancing its presence. The tough CC-01 chassis is equipped with a front independent double wishbone and rear 4-link rigid axle suspension setup, allowing you to enjoy exciting cross-country, off-road, and on-road R/C action.

Excellent ground-hugging, long-stroke suspension system consists of front double wishbone and rear 4-link rigid setups and is equipped with 4 oil dampers. Highly reliable and efficient full-time 4WD system features a front-mounted motor, which transmits power to the front wheels via the gearbox and to the rear wheels via the propeller shaft with universal joints. Front and rear differentials enable smooth cornering. For even greater off-road performance on rough terrain, the rear differential may be locked during assembly.

Despite being first released in 1987, more than 20 years ago, the Clod Buster still remains one of Tamiya’s most popular R/C monster trucks. Answering the many requests from Clod Buster fans, Tamiya upgrades the twin-motor 4WD Clod Buster giving it a brand new look with new body design. The chassis make-up has changed little, with major changes restricted to the external appearance such as cool new colouration and some metal plated parts.

Tamiya has followed this growing segment with interest and we are now proud to present to you the fruits of our research. This new crawler features a true-to-scale Toyota Land Cruiser 40 body made from lightweight polycarbonate mounted on an all-new CR-01 chassis and is literally ready to rock. CR-01 dedicated crawler chassis features heavy-duty ladder frame with strong yet lightweight pressed aluminium channels and resin cross members. The space saved by mounting a compact planetary gearbox enables the battery to be located lower on the chassis for optimum centre of gravity. Planetary gearbox comes with20T pinion gear for a 40.5:1 gear ratio. Separately available 16T-25T pinion gears can be installed for gear ratios ranging from 50.6:1 to 32.4:1. Kit also includes 540 type motor while 2-channel R/C system, ESC, and 7.2V battery & charger are separately required 4-link coil spring suspension provides the flexibility needed to conquer difficult rocky terrain. Inboard dampers are connected to suspension via linkages, which are then connected via stabilizer torsion bar to provide sure-footed balance. Newly designed 3-piece bead lock wheels are mounted with massive rock crawler tires with 125mm diameter and 56mm width. Tamiya 58436 Ford Bronco 1973

The Ford Bronco is a famous American 4X4 off-road vehicle. This 1970's model was among the first series called "Early Bronco" which were produced during 1965-1977. Three types of bodies were released; the fully-open "Roadster," the single cabin pick-up "Utility," and the "Wagon" which had a resin roof. The body featured triangular protrusions on both sides on the curved front hood which worked well as a guide for drivers to accurately measure the body size while driving. The front suspension features coil springs combined with the rigid axle, which was a first for mass-produced 4X4 vehicles and works well both on-road and off-road. The Bronco is still greatly popular around the world, particularly in America, where many are used as cross-country and rock crawling vehicles.

On the Bronco's body you will find the typical detail you expect from Tamiya. With raised details, like door Hinges and marker lights to the rear ford tailgate letters.

Included are newly designed metal plated H Parts (Grille, side mirrors and light covers) made from durable ABS resin.

It is currently the most complex car model in the RC range and several days should be allowed for assembly and testing.	Feel the Power of Twin Motor 4WD! This R/C machine packs all the power of an American Monster Truck. This model features parallel twin motors transferring power to the propeller shaft and front/rear axles giving unsurpassed 4x4 off-road action. Heavy-duty Parts for Rugged Driving Aluminium side frames and suspension arms add a customized feel and ensure high durability. The TXT-1 features a 2-level gearbox for efficient power transmission. High Performance Wheels The 4-link rigid wheels feature push rods and locking arms as well as dampers employing cantilever suspension. The extraordinary suspension stroke and monster tyres allow the TXT-1 to handle the hardest of unmade roads. 510mm Giant This gargantuan R/C truck has a total length of 510mm and a total width of 385mm. The model emulates the crushing power demonstrated by real-sized American monster tucks as they pound their way over rows of scrap yard cars. This unique colossus needs no roads, simply grab the transmitter and watch as the TXT-1 paves a path of its own! Notes: This truck can be assembled in several different configurations. As standard, one steering servo can be used and the rear steering mechanism locked off - this is our 2WS deal. Alternatively, you can fit a second steering servo at the rear using a "Y" lead to connect both to the 2 channel receiver, this is parts included in the "4WS Extras" package. As a third option, you can use a 4 channel radio which gives independent operation of the front and rear steering, allowing you to steer with front or rear wheels independently - this is our SUPERDEAL. In each case, we recommend using separate receiver batteries to power the radio equipment, using the battery box supplied with the radio sets. In each instance, note that due to the size of the TXT1's tyres, steering should only be operated when the vehicle is moving and not when the truck it sitting still as the strain may damage the servos! Imagine trying to turn the steering wheel on an older non-power assisted car to get an idea of the strain involved!

When reading the descriptions below, all the comments apply equally to each model. Note that only the HiLux includes a surf board though! Detailed Pictures - click to enlarge... This is an Electric R/C assembly kit of one of the most representative of modern American pick-up trucks, the Ford F-350. The model features a realistic ladder frame, 3-speed transmission and shaft drive 4WD system. A highly detailed injection moulded body and large diameter wheels enhance the stylish high-ground-clearance look. Original marking stickers add to the truck's overall realism. METAL & METAL PLATED PARTS An abundance of metal parts such as ladder frame, under guard, front guard, leaf springs and aluminium friction dampers are included. Roll bar, road light, front grille, front/rear bumper, side-step, diff guard, wheels and muffler feature metal-plated finish. ADD LED LIGHTS (SOLD SEPERATELY) Use Multi-Function Unit to depict working headlights, tail lights and roll bar lights for even more incredible realism. (Multi-Function Unit includes LED lights). This Multi Function Unit will bring even more enjoyment to the operation of the R/C Ford F350. Featuring realistic sound effects recorded from actual vehicles, controllable LED lights and other movement effects, this unit will greatly expand the potential of your Ford F350. This will connect into the receiver unit on the truck - this is why a 4 channel radio is suggested, even though the 4th channel at this stage isn't used. Durable and realistic ladder frame consists of steel channel and resin cross member. F/R propeller shafts feature universal joint to efficiently transmit power even if suspension is moving up and down. QUICK BATTERY HOLDER Battery held in low position for excellent weight balance and stability. Easy access holder allows running battery to be exchanged without removing body. 4WS STEERING ROD 4 wheel steering can be enabled by adding kit supplied rear axle tension rod. 4-wheel steering enables even tighter turning radius, perfect when using truck indoors or in confined space. WHEELS & TYRES Newly designed monster truck tyres feature lug pattern suited for driving on rough surfaces. Apply cement to wheels and tires when running on rough terrain. Worn out wheel hubs can be replaced with #53056 Pin type Wheel Adapter. 3-SPEED TRANSMISSION Newly designed 3-speed transmission provides smooth low speed running, and allows gear changing while running. Low gear > 2nd gear > Top gear 1:64.39 > 1:35.20 > 1:21.14 SLIPPER CLUTCH Includes slipper clutch as standard part to protect gears during tough off-road running. DIFFERENTIAL GEAR Durable resin gear case with integrated die-cast differential gear. DIFFERENTIAL LOCK Differential lock, essential for driving on rough roads, may be easily enabled by simply removing F/R diff case covers and removing screw pins. By using differential lock, drive power is transmitted even if wheels on one side are not grounded. LEAF SPRING SUSPENSION F/R suspension with friction dampers allows tension adjustment by altering number of leaf springs. FRICTION DAMPERS Features red anodized aluminum cylinder. Damping effect can be adjusted by applying separately available Friction Damper Grease and adding o-rings. Select according to ground conditions and leaf spring number. Standard: normal running Default settings. Soft: low-speed, high grip running Use 2 leaf springs and adjust tension using damper grease (soft) #53174. Hard: stable and high-speed running Use 5 leaf springs and apply damper grease (medium) #53175 or (hard) #53176. BEARINGS Kit includes a total of 42pcs of bearings (35pcs x 1150, 4pcs x 1260, 2pcs x 850 size metal and 1pc of 1050 size ball bearings). Metal bearings require periodic application of grease to maintain performance. Separately available ball bearings do not require this treatment, and are highly recommended. A special price bearing pack is available consisting of our own Mr Bear bearings, and this is offered at a discounted rate of just £25 if purchased with the truck Required: Size: Item #: 35 1150 BEA1150 4 1260 BEA1260 2 850 BEA850 MOTOR This kit is designed to be used only with pre-supplied type 540 motor and pinion gear. It is not recommended that any faster motor is used There is some debate as to whether a crawling motor would be suitable with the drive train. REQUIRED ITEMS (NOT INCLUDED WITH KIT BUT INCLUDED WITH DEAL) RADIO CONTROL UNIT TRANSMITTER, RECEIVER, ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROLLER (ESC), STEERING SERVO & SHIFT SERVO Requires 4-channel, 2-servo digital proportional R/C unit with electronic speed controller with variable forward and reverse function. UK Importer recommends use of Acoms AP401 4ch stick type transmitter with slide trim for ease of gear change when running and future upgradeability to MFU system. 2ch R/C unit cannot be used as it cannot shift gears. PCM type receiver may not be used as it may cause radio interference when using with separately available Multi Function Unit. ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROLLER Use high power type ESC with reverse function (maximum continuous current: forward 120A, reverse 60A, FET regulation). A high-spec ESC is especially recommended when running on rough terrain. TEU-302BK Electronic Speed Controller (ITEM 45028) is recommended. Not for use with TEU-101BK Electronic Speed Controller. Also the following speed controllers will tend to overheat on this application: Mtroniks ECO27 & ECO20. If using Mtroniks, minimum recommended spec is RV15. SERVO While standard type steering servo is sufficient, high torque servo may be beneficial when running on rough terrain. Use of ITEM 50473 High Torque Servo Saver White or ITEM 51000 High Torque Servo Saver Black will further improve efficacy. Tamiya recommend you do not use non standard sized or high speed servos. BATTERIES 7.2V running battery with Tamiya connector Eight R6/AA/UM3 batteries for transmitter.

This unit is NOW AVAILABLE! When fitted to your truck, this replaces the ESC - because of this, it is only suitable for trucks fitted with the standard Tamiya motor and a 4 channel "double stick" radio

With the release of this new Multi-Function Unit, Tamiya kicks up the realism another notch with light, sound, and vibration effects all controllable via a 4-channel transmitter (sold separately) to make the F-350 even more impressive.

LIGHT EFFECTS

10 types of high-brightness LEDs (including optional LEDs) for a total of up to 33 lights can be controlled to depict various realistic light actions while driving. They can also light up in pre-set patterns during Demo Mode for a brilliant shelf display.

SAMPLE OPERATIONS

High Beam Operation

Move the control stick partially forward and keep it in the area indicated by the box to activate high beams.

Switching Between Reverse Functions

Slide 4ch trim lever completely to the left and move the control stick as shown to switch between the two reverse function types described below.

         1) Normal Reverse: Truck realistically slows while braking, fully stops,
             then goes into reverse.
         2) Direct Reverse: Truck instantly goes into reverse without stopping
           completely.

Turn Signals On/Off

Move control stick in the indicated motion once to enable turn signals. To disable the turn signals, repeat the motion.

Turn Signal use

When turn signals are enabled, move the control stick left or right to the areas indicated by the box to flash the left side or right side turn signals. Turn signals can be operated both while driving or when stationary.

SPECIAL NOTES

	Do not use together with ITEM# 53909 TLU-01 or ITEM# 53937 TLU-02.
	MFC-02 is compatible with the Type 540 motor only. Please avoid installing other motors.
	MFC-02 cannot be operated with 2-channel or 3-channel transmitters/receivers.
	MFC-02 is not compatible with PCM type receivers, multi-channel receivers, and older receivers made by Sanwa (identifiable by their black cases).

A new off-road buggy aimed at the first time builder and racer, the all terrain 2WD Rising Fighter inherits all its great qualities and excellent performance from its predecessors Hornet, Grasshopper, Fighter Buggy and Mad Fighter, using a similar body to the Mad Fighter. Length: 418mm, Width: 236mm, Height: 187mm, Wheel base: 268mm, Weight: 1000g. Independent swing axles for the front suspension, a rolling rigid rear suspension, and large sized friction dampers effectively absorb shocks and bumps. Bevel type diff gear. Semi monocoque structure acts as the chassis strengthening part (Screws are used to secure the resin body to the bathtub chassis). Fully enclosed gearbox preventing dirt and debris from interfering with operation. Powered by a 540 motor (included). Grooved front tyres and rear spike tires ensure excellent traction for any surface. Stylish resin moulded body. This model is completely new but made 100% from existing Tamiya parts - meaning good parts availability from the off. The 540 motor coupled with a direct drive gearbox means a good turn of speed for both the beginner and more advanced driver - yet simple construction means ease of assembly and repair.
