1: If we say a kit is £79, you pay £79 - no
more! No surcharges on kits! 2: We're a real town centre shop We don't hide behind a PO BOX number or operate out of a back-bedroom (you'd be amazed by how many "big" web sites do). That means you can walk in and see us at any time. It also means we wouldn't risk selling shoddy products. You can phone us too - number is at the bottom of every page, although please be aware that sometimes we may have to call you back if the shop is busy. 3: Comprehensive Spare Parts When we last counted, we had over £10000 of Tamiya spare parts in stock. Yes, £10000 - more than we can ever display in the shop! We order more at least twice a week and are the only UK store which can guarantee a delivery of spares arrives every Tuesday and every Friday without fail, and often on other days too! That means if you want a part and we don't have it in, it'll only be days before we do have it for you. Delivery of spare parts is also FREE in the UK, you just have to spend £50 or more (otherwise there is a small charge of £1.00 for P&P). 4: Warranty Electrics, Engines, Radios, Chargers and Batteries we sell are all warranted by the appropriate UK distributor. To make a claim under warranty, you either return the faulty part to us or direct to them (they will need to see your receipt, as they always check up that the product has been bought in the UK from an authorised retailer - if it hasn't, no warranty applies. Of course, we are authorised so no problem). 5: Advice Email us before you purchase for full advice and recommendations. We will sell you what will suit you, not the item that makes us the most profit. If we feel a £150 car would suit you better than the £200 car you contact us about, we will tell you. If you want to add upgrades to a car we will explain them. Problems during the build? Phone us and our expert will talk you through the stage you're stuck on. 6: Help Guide Every Tamiya kit we sell has our own unique Help Guide inserted FREE OF CHARGE. This answers many of the questions we hear over and again from new enthusiasts, and also points out how to avoid some commonly found problems during the build. 7: Deep Stocks If it says "In Stock" we had that kit in stock when we opened the shop this morning! Most popular kits we keep anything up to 6 pieces on hand at any time. If we run out, we'll express more in - usually within only 2 or 3 days. 8: No Racer Speak We explain RC in English. We won't baffle you with technical information unlike some other stores - there's no advantage in confusion. If you need something explaining, just ask. 9: No Crap We make a point of assessing each new product we take on board. If it's no good, we won't stock it - however cheap it is. If we've tried a product and our customers find a major problem we will withdraw the item from sale. We won't sell you a car you can't get spares for (except for the clearly marked Tamiya Heritage range) and for these reasons (lack of spares and them being able to fall apart on demand) we don't sell the Smartech range! 10: We're in the UK This might seem a strange heading. However, there are a number of sites that feature fantastic prices which are actually based in the far east. Yes the prices are in Sterling and look incredibly cheap, but this means an international parcel will be sent to you. When Customs stop international parcels, which they are supposed to do on any package worth over £15, they add 5% Duty, 17.5% VAT and then Parcelforce charge you another £12 to £16 to redeliver the parcel (strangely, Parcelforce often redeliver even if the package was sent by another courier company). You might be lucky and avoid this. You probably wouldn't though. |
